Khnum is the High King of Mu but he is rarely in Inoue because of his traveling around the Empire on political business. Since he chooses to work away from home this often leaves his wife, Heqet, with all of the Capital responsibilities. It is said that neither partner is fond of the other and that they both look to others for company. In fact, the couple seem at war with each other.

Khnum doesn't get along well with his sons either and has been known to be taciturn and to see people based on their value to him and the Empire.
